Clubs & Societies

Wolfson College boasts a wide range of clubs and societies - from arts to yoga and most things in between.

Below is a list with links to websites and contact details of Club/Society Representatives. Please note that access to some society websites may be restricted to the Oxford network. Views expressed by clubs and societies do not necessarily represent an official view of Wolfson College.

Clubs & Societies Contact Information

Social and Cultural committee (SCC)

The SCC meets twice a term to discuss all the brilliant social and cultural aspects of the College.

Many of the clubs and societies, ranging from the Arts and Music Societies to the Boat Club and Football regularly give updates here on recent events and things to come. Together with the captains of all the clubs and societies the SCC represents the College members, organises social and cultural events in and out of the College, and helps with the smooth running of all our sports facilities and clubs.

New club suggestions

All our sports clubs and societies are financed by the Common Room Fund through grants to each club. If you have an idea for a new club please see the Club Guidelines at the bottom of this page for more information and if you wish to apply, please fill in the webform on this page. The Club and Society Guidelines includes details of the Hospitality Fund which enables members to stage one-off events, not currently part of our social scene, or to help with the funds to get new ideas off the ground.

Grants

The Common Room Fund also assists towards the expenses of those who play in University teams (‘Blues') and towards celebratory dinners for clubs that win the league or “Blades” at Torpids or Summer Eights. If you want to join a University Club not on offer in College we offer up to £25 per annum (maximum) per person towards that subscription. For further information please contact the Common Room Administrator.

High Profile Grant Awards

The Social and Cultural Committee awards grants to support individual graduate students who are striving towards the peak of success in sports, music or the arts. The grants are up to £200 from the Common Room Fund. Learn more.
