Annual Social Events

Wolfson Week provides a lively introduction to the Wolfson graduate scene for new college students. Each year, the College Social and Cultural Committee (SCC), organises a week of social, cultural and sporting opportunities to give new Wolfsonians a taster of the vibrant, fun and friendly environment here at Wolfson College. There will be no looking back after this invigorating introduction!

Every year, a committee of students is invited to organise a Christmas Ball on a theme of their choice, and a summer event to cater for the whole community. This is a great opportunity to get to know people and to work as a team to put together an exciting programme of entertainment.

Moreover, there are special funds which help support these events and subsidize student participation.

There is an annual sports competition with Darwin College, our sister college in Cambridge, which takes place in Oxford and Cambridge in alternate years. The activities range from football to Scrabble and the day ends with an evening social event.

Students can gain valuable experience by managing and planning events, running clubs or by participating in the student-run Bar Committee. Wolfson also gives students the opportunity to participate in the political and academic governance of the College through membership of various committees.
