Events in 2007 / 2008
Michelmas term
Our introductory walk in October led us into the unexpected marshiness of Port Meadow's Eastern boundary (oops!). Another unexpected surprise was stumbling into an open day at Wolvercote's community orchard.
A trip to the lake district took place over a weekend in November 2007, staying in the Ambleside Youth Hostel and walking around Loughrigg Fell, Conniston, Tarn Howes and Great Langdale.
Hilary term
This term, we took a day trip walking in the Chiltern Hills, a short distance East of Oxford, around Ewelme and Swyncombe.
We also spent a weekend travelling to the Dorset coast, walking around the Isle of Portland and Lulworth Cove.
Trinity term
Our day excursions this term were to Avebury and Kennet Long Barrow, and to Harcourt Arboretum to see the bluebell woods in fool bloom.
We also make a weekend journey to the western end of South Wales, to view the Puffins and seabirds on Skomer Island, and walking along part of the Pembrokeshire coastal path.
