16th Century Ships - Line drawings by David Meagher
I am most indebted to David Meagher for allowing me to include
the following line drawings of ships of the 16th Century.
He has depicted the styles of construction, and thus the appearance
of Caravels, Galleys, Carracks, Naos, Pinnaces, Galleasses and Galleons
of English, Spanish and Portuguese origin in a series of Black and White,
two-dimensional line drawings.
A series of 16 simple line-drawn sketches with 3 - 5 sketches per image,
illustrate the appearance of the following ships:

A series of line drawings of individual ships follow. These were
drawn by David Meagher from contemporary drawings and paintings of the
ships concerned, with a view to capturing the appearance, design and rigging
of these vessels. Representing a wide variety of classs of ships,
and nationalities, these are arranged by date.
