To be able to go punting, you need to apply for a permit. Forms are kept behind the lodge or can be printed using the PDF file below. Once your form has been received by the Common Room Secretary, she will send you a permit which you may use to book a punt via the Lodge. Punts may be booked in slots of up to 3 hours.
However, before your permit can be issued, you will need to go on a boathouse tour. Thanks to the fantastic work of past Admiral Phil Davis, this tour takes place on the web, so you needn't move from your computer!
For those of you keen to learn how to punt with style and flair, keep your eyes peeled for punting tutorials advertised on this website and in the lodge. They are run a couple of times a term and cover key aspects such as looking good on a punt, punting in a straight line and punting cuisine.
For further reading, Robert Pitkethly has written a useful guide which you can view if you have Acrobat installed.
There is also an excellent book by Robert Rivington, now sadly out of print, but available in the Wolfson Library.
