Library Etiquette
Use of Facilities
- Readers must not behave in a manner likely to damage the fixtures and fittings of the library.
- Readers must not infringe University or College regulations governing the use of Information technology
- Readers photocopying material must comply with the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
Behaviour in the Library
- Readers must not eat, drink or smoke in the Library.
- Readers must not use mobile phones, radios, or personal stereos in the Library.
- Readers must not hold conversations or in any other way cause disturbance to library users.
- Readers must leave the Library immediately in the event of a fire alarm or when instructed to do so by the Librarian.
- Valuables should not be left unattended in the Library.
Use of Library Materials
- Readers may take material from the shelves, or borrow material, only in accordance with Library procedures. It is a disciplinary offence to remove items from the Library without issuing them.
- Readers are responsible for all the items issued to them.
- Readers must not damage or deface library materials.
- Readers must return promptly any library material issued to them if asked to do so.
- Readers should ensure that they return all library material at the end of their studies, period of tenure, or visit.
