Wolfson College Library is one of the best non-specialized graduate college libraries in Oxford, and serves as the centre of independent study at Wolfson. The College has historically been extremely successful in acquiring the 'working libraries' of such distinguished scholars as Ronald Syme, Marcel and Theresa Hornik, David Lewis, Robert Zaehner, Roger Moorey, and Jill Hart.
To these has recently been added the 6,000-volume library of the distinguished Roman historian and archaeologist Colin Wells, making the College's holdings in Ancient World studies among the most extensive in Oxford. Similar collections have been acquired or pledged in the history of ideas and modern English literature.

The Future of Study at Wolfson
A victim of its spectacular success in attracting scholarly collections from Fellows and friends, the College's library is in urgent need of more space to house these valuable collections and to provide a 21st-Century study environment.
Phase II of the new Academic Wing will allow us to free up 200 square metres of additional library space in the main building overlooking the Berlin Quad.
