Applications to the Academic Committee can be made for the following academic activities:
1 Workshops, conferences, and colloquia organized by Fellows of the College and normally held at Wolfson.
The Governing Body has agreed an amount based on £10 per day per delegate up to a maximum of £600 per application, in cases where the exact number of delegates in a workshop or conference is known. Open meetings and lectures arranged by Wolfson Fellows where numbers of attendees are unknown may also apply to the fund to cover expenses, again with a maximum of £600 per application.
Applications should be made in writing to the College Secretary to be considered by regular meetings of the Academic Committee.
It is expected that outside funding will also be sought.
Funds may be spent as required by the convener, e.g. catering, guest rooms, travel expenses, etc. Where appropriate, to qualify for the £10 per day per delegate rate, a list of participants should be sent to the College Secretary for this purpose.
The convener should inform the Events Office when rooms etc are booked that the event is being supported by the College and that invoices should be sent to the College Secretary.
2 Lectures and Seminars. The Academic Committee also considers applications for financial support for one-off or regular seminars/meetings, etc. held at Wolfson and (usually) open to all members of the College and Common Room.
Applications should be made in writing at least one week prior to the meeting of the Academic Committee in Week 0 for approval. An allocation will be made based on the type and frequency of event (please ask the College Secretary for details of existing guidelines).
Organisers should inform the Events Office when refreshments are requested that invoices should be sent to the College Secretary for approval.
