Introduction

WOS is one of the College's most active societies !

The Wolfson Ornithological Society was founded on the 9th of October 1996 by three fanatic birdwatchers. Our aim is to promote all aspects of ornithology within College with maximum satisfaction for all involved. Our activities reflect the great range of interests and experience of our College members: birdwatching (trips and excursions!), birdstudy (talks and slideshows!), conservation (further development of College grounds!), etc.,etc. WOS is a very flexible society where individual members can pursue their own interest with the organisational help of the committee. Non-College members are very welcome to join our events, however they will not be eligible for subsidy (if appropiate) and numbers may be restricted.

Our main activities are:

- Organisation of excursions around the College for people interested in birds (especially beginners).

- Organisation of excursions to interesting bird watch locations.

- Organisation of meetings with speakers and presentation of slides.

- Keeping a record of all bird species observed on College grounds.

- Placement of nest-boxes in the College gardens.
