WE STUDY a combination of traditional Japanese martial arts that draw on both samurai and ninja traditions. These are:

  • Gyokko Ryu Kosshijutsu
  • Koto Ryu Koppojutsu
  • Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu
  • Kukishin Ryu Taijutsu
  • Takagiyoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu
  • Kumogakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu
  • Gyokushin Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu
  • Gikan Ryu Koppojutsu
  • Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu

and are taught as part of Soke Hatsumi's Bujinkan organisation.

WE USE natural body movements to strike, apply locks and to throw. Our training also incorporates a range of traditional and modern weapons.

OUR AIM is to provide a safe and friendly training environment where everybody is allowed to progress at their own pace. There are no competitions in the Bujinkan and hence there are no competitive influences in our training.
OUR INSTRUCTOR , Dr. Tony Matthews (8th Dan), is a licenced Shidoshi (teacher) and has travelled regularly to train with Soke Hatsumi in Japan .

WE TRAIN twice a week at Wolfson College on:

  • Monday : 2030 - 2230
  • Wednesday : 2100 - 2300

A map showing the location of Wolfson College can be found here. Parking is available in the West Car Park or on Linton Road.

YOU CAN turn up to any of the above classes to have a look at what we do, or to join in and give it a go. We suggest, before taking up any martial art, you try it out first to ensure it is what you're looking for. Feel free to just show up. You are welcome to try a few of our classes free of charge. You don't need any special equipment – just turn up in sturdy, loose fitting clothes. All welcome. Adults only.
